Came on a Saturday midday with no reservation. We were seated immediately. We ordered the salt and pepper crab, hot and sour soup, chow mein and honey walnut prawns. We would definitely come back for the soup and crab. They were delicious! The other items were fine. Service was very good. Thank you for a good meal

We love this place. This time we went with a friend who has childhood memories of this place. We had Peking Duck, Crab, Mapu Tofu, Snap pea shoots, and a Mango desert. All food was delicious. They have really revamped their air circulation. I have to say the place smelled fresh, there was no smoke at all and now they have a bathroom upstairs and a bathroom downstairs. Great upgrades!

Been here multiple times. However, we have not visited it the last couple of years since the pandemic. However it was still the same. They have a basement and lots of seating there too. Great food. Great and fast service and nice staff. Price is still reasonable. The parking is a little bit challenging since you k ow you're in chinese downtown. Lots of restaurants and a pretty busy district. Still highly recommended.

It's full capacity. Make sure you make reservation instead of going in queue. Celebrate M birthday, party of 23. Occupied a private room with two gigantic table. Every single food we ordered is yummy. Im not a fan of any duck but i was surprised that i actually ate a lot. I didn't had ishort ribs, too oily. The rest was really good. So here's some (not all) of the photos i took. I recommend the fried green beans. Customer Service is quick. And also they do validate parking ticket ( public parking just a block away .

I've eaten at many Chinese restaurant and this has always been my favorite. It does get really busy, but if you go in the afternoon or early week day evenings, there is usually no wait. There are 3 floors and they validate $5 off Portsmouth Square Garage. It's great for family style dining . If I'm not with a big group ordering off their banquet menu , then I usually get Peking duck, lobster sticky rice, and scallops steak cubes and macadamia nuts. Love coming here

not sure what R&G stands for--maybe "Really Good"?--because that's my vibe after eating there. They hooked us up with a three-table mini lunch banquet, and I was all in for every bite. Total win. Kicked off with a seafood soup that had this cool egg-drop swirl going on--super cozy and delicious. Next up, a deep-fried, battered Dungeness crab that was basically a flavor bomb. Sweet, juicy meat in every crunchy bite--yes, please! Then came the Peking duck with those soft steamed buns (way better than the sad wraps some places toss at you). A little soy sauce chicken slid in next--less salty than the duck, just chill poultry vibes. Singapore noodles and long-life noodles kept the party going, and the miso sea bass? So tender I almost forgot to chew. All this was from their pre-fixe menu, and they even threw in a cute dessert--red bean and coconut jello on a toothpick. Tiny, sweet, and the perfect "see ya later" to the meal. Tasty honey glazed walnut shrimp too. Food came very fast. Good service fire weather and other tuna we asked for. But it definitely was pricey. Not sure it's worth it. Park at Portsmouth Square underground garage, just a block away. It's smack in the heart of Chinatown, so you can stroll around after if you're feeling it. The seating's on the second floor, kinda tucked away but still chill--not like you're hiding from the world, just vibing above it. Worth the trip!

Came at like 8pm on a monday night and place was packed. Traditional banquet style chinese food which is pretty rare in SF. Overall great place for nostalgic chinese food. Price is really reasonable for the portion size ($20 noodles could easily feed 3 people) Whole peking duck ($55) Seafood stir fried garlic noodle ($23) Sauteed string beans ($20) Hot and sour wonton soup ($23) R&G special beef ($25) Everything was so good and super big portions. Great price and great place to come with a big group to try everything

Time to update my review because this place was so good after I gave it another try. Had a banquet dinner with my family and got the set menu which was delicious! The notable dishes were the salt and pepper crab (protip - save the fried garlic to eat with the fried rice at the end of the meal), honey walnut prawns, shaken beef, and the miso cod. Everything was well cooked, flavorful, and had a big portion for everyone. We also got a couple extra dishes of geoduck and braised radish with brisket which was really good. They served the roast chicken towards the end after all the delicious seafood and not one touched much of it. Seems like a filler even though it was still pretty good. Ended up being about $100/pp but worth it for a special occasion!
